Intermediate Bookkeeping Technician

London and Sarnia Ontario

Based out of our London or Sarnia locations, the Intermediate Bookkeeping Technician position is a full time role that will be responsible for assisting the External Accounting Supervisor with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and payroll.

Accounting and Finance duties include:

  • Financial reporting – ensuring payables, sales entries, journal entries, transactions and project costing are posted to the general ledger in a timely manner
  • Organizing Purchase Orders with corresponding bills ensuring accuracy
  • Managing and digitizing receipts, bills, and other financial documents
  • Reconciliations – reconcile various accounts and projects to ensure accuracy of balances and project costs
  • Variance analysis – review revenue and expense detail, analyze for accuracy and investigate variances
  • Budgets and forecasting – assist in preparation of budgets and projections
  • Invoicing and managing project invoicing schedules and following up on outstanding payments

HR and Payroll duties include:

  • Running payroll for staff on a biweekly basis for hourly and salaried employees
  • Issuing Record of Employment
  • Preparing entry paperwork

You already bring:

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
  • Accounting Degree/Diploma, or IPBC Tier 3 Technician or higher preferred
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online, TSheets and Wagepoint software
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC an asset

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow through on multiple projects and manage conflicting priorities
  • Strong computer skills and comfortably adaptable to new software
  • A good eye for detail and good memory

This position reports to the VP of Operations. Hourly remuneration will be commensurate with experience.

For candidates based out of our London location, please be advised that travel to the Sarnia office will be required at least once per week.
