High Style: Main Floor Design & Remodel
Award Winner: 2017 North American wide design competition, best green design. As Seen in NKBA Magazine
The goal for this home was to revitalize the interior. A wall was removed which separated the small kitchen and an unused home office to create an inviting kitchen that would serve as the heart of the home.
The existing main floor of the home featured a kitchen that felt closed and that limited togetherness. We redesigned the kitchen to remove a wall, allowing the space to be much larger. Two eating areas were incorporated, permitting the family to dine casually or in a more formal setting.
The scope of this project included a kitchen, powder room, laundry room, entrance and family room.

How We Transformed This Home
A sleek, curved eat in bar was created to allow the homeowners to enjoy breakfast or lunch while taking in the view of their stunning backyard. The all wood, Canadian made birch swivel stools allow range of motion, and a soft comfortable seat.
The bold, marble-look quartz countertops provide the ultimate durability and are maintenance free while the soft off-white custom window coverings complete the space.
A four-foot-wide professional style stainless steel sink was designed into the kitchen to make meal preparation and clean up easier.
Built in drying racks, cutting boards, wash bowls and strainers make this sink every homeowners dream. The instant hot water faucet provides an instantly hot tea and the brushed nickel and cocoa faucets allow for more than one user at the sink at a time.
A 42” pro-style refrigerator sets the stage for functionality with its fully flush, integrated design. It features distinct fresh and frozen food climates and a produce preserver to keep food fresh. Interior drawers feature soft close with an ultra-sleek obsidian black finish.
The microwave drawer doubles as a warming drawer and the wall oven features six convection modes, allowing the homeowner to bake pie and garlic at the same time with no flavour transfer.
The kitchen boldly showcases three cabinetry finishes; dove white, natural walnut and maple soy. Designed to create a unique look, in harmony with the personalities of the homeowners.
A recessed niche behind the three-foot-wide gas cooktop features a chevron pattern marble and glass tile. The main backsplash tile is an artisanal porcelain, uneven tile.
Solid stained birch, Canadian crafted furniture ties the rich mocha colour into the kitchen cabinetry while the soft fabric dining chairs add texture.
The large scale warm charcoal porcelain tile provides stability both in look, and in durability.
