Modern Beach House Transformation

The Dilemma: This existing home was in tear-down condition, and the property faced difficulties with being on the shore of Lake Huron, the existing footprint of the home had to be maintained. The home needed to maximize views of Sarnia’s Lake Huron shoreline, be modern, sleek, and encompass original design elements.

The Solution: We worked with the client’s architectural plans to enhance the interior design, and ensure that every inch of the kitchen, and bathrooms were meticulously designed, and that we could maximize function, storage, and style. The homeowners have a love of modern design, and original art and both played a large role in the outcome of the overall design. We incorporated original design ideas to bring this home to life, with out of the box concepts and materials.

Kitchen

This kitchen needed to be streamlined, with clean, crisp lines, that maximized function and storage while maintaining a minimalist feel. Flat fronts on the cabinetry, with toe kick lighting make this a stunning view in the evening. The induction cooktop seamlessly blends in and the downdraft range hides away to optimize the view from the window. Built in fridge and freezer columns are hidden behind cabinet doors and the microwave and oven seamlessly blend into the flush surface. Hidden pop up electrical keep the countertop flush without the view of electronics and electronic window coverings make switching from day to night a breeze.

Dining Room

Herringbone flooring, a modern tablescape, and a view of the stunning and blue Lake Huron shoreline make for a space where unforgettable meals will take place.

Ensuite

We designed a large-scale teak beam spanning the entire width of the ensuite bathroom, that was stained and finished with a high-gloss custom, water resistant finish. The shower heads were meticulously placed and installed to come through the beam, creating a his and his shower area. The ensuite is at the front of the home and so with the push of a button the front wall which is glass, turns opaque.

The shower and the vanity wall features floor to ceiling quartz slabs, with backlighting, and custom angled sinks, modern fixtures and finishing touches fit for a king.

Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom is the one that will be used by guests and we wanted it to bring the wow factor while being durable, and functional. Custom designed and built integrated quartz sinks, and a large shower are the focal of the room
